“Only
by giving are you able to receive more than you already have.”—Jim Rohn
Kind people are like clouds, they receive only to give back.
Are you one of them?
Are you one of the rare few who have learned the value of
kindness and generosity?
Have you realized that we lose only what we selfishly hoard
and ultimately not what we share?
Do you really understand that to cease making generous contributions
is to begin to decline?
In case you answer in the negative to any of the above
questions, I beg you to calmly read on.
What it takes to stretch the value of one’s life beyond its
very limited time span is nothing but generous service. Based on documented history,
in the end, people are not heartily remembered for what they had or enjoyed,
but only for the value they added to the lives of others. The selfless sacrifices
they made for the good of the society.
On this principle, smart and wise people always choose to keep
adding value to their world, and the people around them. And to do that, they
don’t necessarily need to have a lot of money in the bank but only the heart
for kindness and consideration.
Many successful people consider it their duty to
give back to their community through useful service to all. People like Mark
Zuckerberg who founded an entity that is serving many people internationally today
without directly paying any money for its services. In addition, he is also a
leading figure in philanthropic donations to charity causes across the globe—generously
giving much of his hard earned money back to the society.
Like him, successful and generous people really understand
the essence of kindness and compassion. They know their act of giving is a boost to their own vitality;
because by supporting and helping others, they eventually grow to be their very
best.
So
we must strive to emulate their example as encouraged by Calvin Coolidge, the
former President of United States, when he reminded us that: “No person was
ever honoured for what he received. Honour has been the reward for what he
gave.”
In
finality, to simply reap more later, you have to give more now. Commit to
generosity.
